Performing & competing at the Yale Peabody Museum as part of the Zannette Lewis Environmental and Social Justice Professional Poetry Slam.

A poem written and performed by Zulynette. The piece was inspired by an actual statement by her niece who was seven years old at the time. The poem speaks to the torment of having to live up to unrealistic, photoshopped and completely made up (pun intended) standards of beauty imposed on women and girls.

Two poems by Zulynette Morales performed at her art show "A Little Bit of Death" on November 27th, 2015. The poet/artist shares words about her experience with being suicidal and how she healed and grew from it. The video also captures Zulynette creating her painting "Grow through what you go through" where a woman is blooming out of a flower.
